The voice acting as usual is spot on from Peter Cullen whom as usual is excellent as Optimus Prime. Music is great there is a memorable tune or two. Also looking at them once again I can't help but wonder why the heck couldn't the robots in the Live Action films look as good as this. The color, physical features, to even some show of some wear on both Autobots and Decpetcons like seeing the paint on a few of them looking a bit faded which I like because it gives the robots a slightly grounded sensibility. I really love the graphical presentation which looks even better than the first game, from the details of Cybertron but most importantly the character models. As much as I liked the first game, I really liked this second one a bit more because there were some slight improvements. That explains Fall of Cybertron's surprise release.Yeah I'm a Transformers fan, and I've played the first game and I'm proud to say a bolt of energon stuck twice, which also makes these licensed Transformers games an official as well as memorable franchise, which is something that doesn't happen often with most licensed video games. In related news, today marks the 30th anniversary of The Transformers: The Movie. Eurogamer contributor Alec Meer called it "a good-hearted festival of a game about talking robots shooting and smashing each other" in his Transformers: Fall of Cybertron review. That's not inherently a bad thing though, as Transformers: Fall of Cybertron was fairly well-received. Given the lack of fanfare, my money's on the latter. No mention is made of any new features in this release, so it's unclear if it's a remaster or a straight port.

Popping up with no official announcement is definitely a surprise, though it's not the first time murmurs of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron coming to contemporary consoles were heard as the game was spotted on a Taiwanese ratings board for current-gen consoles back in June.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron has appeared on PS4 and Xbox One via the PSN Store and Xbox Marketplace in Australia, suggesting an EU release won't be far behind.Īs spotted by Twitter users lifelower and Sora96, the port of High Moon Studios' 2012 licensed game was handled by FunLabs, who previously ported Prototype to modern consoles.
